Space science activity: 7th Grade
Standard: 06-ESS1-3. Analyze and interpret data to determine scale properties of objects in the solar system Objectives:
Activity: This activity allows students to visualize the interactions the planets have in our solar system. Students will be required to make a scale model of our solar system that represents size comparison and orbital shapes of each planet. Students models should have moveable components and should be accurate. Activity Description: Students will start their projects by completing the given worksheet. The worksheet will help students organize their thoughts and allow them space to brainstorm what their models will look like. After completing the worksheet, students should have an understanding of the solar system order. In the brainstorm section students can sketch what their designs will look like, how it will move, and the materials they will need. Once they have determined how their models will look, they will begin constructing their models. I (the teacher) will provide basic materials for this project. I will be cautious of the economical burden this assignment could be and have extra materials if needed. |

Activity description: You have been selected to work on the new universe design. You have been tasked in creating something that will make this universe special. You can choose to create a planet, star, nebula, galaxy, solar system, or anything we have covered in class. You will use the software KRITA to make your masterpiece. Once you are done give your creation a unique name. How to use KRITA:
